Sessantina in Italian literally translates to “sixty”, the time it takes this rapini to form the little broccoli shoots at the ends of the stems. Everything in the plant is eaten: the stems, the leaves and the flowers. This bitter foliage is delicious cooked, alone or mixed with other foods.

Growing tips
Conditions of germination:
- depth of sowing: 5 mm
- optimal temperatures for germination: 10 to 30ºC
- time for germination: 5 to 10 days
When to sow:
- direct seeding when the soil can be worked in spring and midsummer (late July/early August) for a fall harvest
Sowing technique: in pocket
Within the same hole, sow 3 to 5 seeds spaced 1 to 2 cm apart; when the seeds have germinated and the seedlings have reached a height of 5 cm, keep only the most beautiful plants and consume the removed plants.
