Branching variety reaching between 1.5 and 1.8 m in height, the Velvet Queen sunflower produces flowers of 12 to 15 cm in diameter with warm colors, in the tones of burgundy/rust/mahogany with in their center black seeds cut by a yellow circle which will make the happiness of the birds in the garden. Pretty cut flowers.

Growing tips
Conditions of germination:
- depth of sowing: 1-2 cm
- optimal temperatures for germination: 20 to 30 ºC
- time for germination: 7 to 21 days
When to sow:
- indoor sowing 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost date in your area OR
- direct seeding after any risk of frost
Sowing technique: in line
- Draw a line in the ground (in a pot or in the ground), then sow the seeds.
Transplant outdoors (for seedlings started indoors):
- When all risk of frost has been eliminated
Distance in the garden:
- between plants: 45-60 cm
- between rows: 60 cm
