Purple Echinacea is a vibrantly colored perennial, with purple to pink petals and sometimes lavender highlights. At the center of the flowers is an orange-brown cone that gives the plant its name (Coneflower). Rich in nectar, it attracts bees, butterflies and many other beneficial pollinators to the garden.

Growing tips
Germination conditions:
- sowing depth: on the surface
- optimum germination temperature: 20ºC
- germination time: 7 to 21 days
When to sow:
- indoor sowing in March for first-year flowering OR
- direct sowing in spring, from May to June
Sowing technique: in pocket
In the same hole, sow 3 to 5 seeds, spacing them about 1 to 2 cm apart; when the seeds have germinated and the seedlings are 5 cm tall, keep all the plants if space is available, or keep only the best-looking ones. Transplant into individual containers while waiting to be transplanted into the garden.
Transplanting in the garden: when the soil has warmed up and there is no longer any risk of frost.
Distance in the garden: between plants: 30 cm
Plant height: 60-90 cm
Soil: rich, well-drained
Exposure: full sun
Flowering period: summer, usually starting around midsummer
